I’m Ann-Marie.

I am driven by helping others to learn and develop in their roles in the organisation. My expertise in working with people encompasses all generalist HR functions, leadership development and manager coaching across different levels of the organisation. The wide range of experience has helped me develop professionally, providing me with skills to manage projects, work within a team, work autonomously and build strong connections across the entire organisation.

I have worked on multiple projects as a contract Instructional Designer/ Learning Experience Designer. I have developed engaging learning experiences, collaborated with subject matter experts to understand the learner, and mapped solutions to ensure project objectives and organisational outcomes were met.

Woolcock Institute of Medical Research

Human Resource Manager

In the capacity of HR Manager and HR Project Manager, I used a strategic approach in the management of the HR lifecycle for workplace participants. I was the HR Manager from September 2016 to 2019, March 2020 to August 2020 and August 2021 to January 2022, and led a team of three people. We designed a digital onboarding process in Articulate and successful employee engagement initiatives. We collaborated to implement a modern HR system and developed a capability framework for leadership skills and behaviours. We designed and delivered extensive training and development programs that were aimed at the improvement of the employee’s skills and compliance, including COVID-19 Regulations, Workplace Bullying, Sexual Harassment and Workplace Health and Safety.

Provided workforce partnerships with CEOs and General Managers in Pubs, Surf Clubs, and Returned & Services Leagues Clubs across Southeast Queensland to create, implement, and manage HR strategies, services, and programs to support the workforce. Led and facilitated leadership development programs for managers and influenced content development for multiple leadership development programs that have equipped managers with the tools and knowledge to lead effectively and inspire their teams.

McDonald's

Training Consultant

Working at McDonald’s has been one of the most significant experiences in my career as it helped me to gain a basic understanding of the techniques that make a culture work and what makes the systems work to make the organisation successful. As a training consultant, I provided high-level management leadership learning and development programs in the regional head office for the State of Queensland to learners in various management positions. As a training subject matter expert, I ensured that the initiatives led to transformed individual and team behaviours to deliver business results through consultative training and operational standards. The mentoring and coaching that I have received at McDonald’s have helped me to develop my skills. Using these skills, I have ensured that all learning and development programs are designed and developed to motivate, build competencies, and enhance individual performance to achieve team and organisational results.

(The roles I have held within the organisation over my 12-year tenure include Crew Member, Manager, Store Manager, Franchisee Supervisor, Operations Consultant, and Training Consultant.)

Key competencies were developed through courses and personalised projects in planning for innovative training, interaction, systems thinking, designing technology-rich learning environments, and evaluation methods.
